ACADEMIC EXPERIENCES

My academic journey has taken me through programs at NYU, Stanford, UPenn, Columbia, and USC, where I explored the intersections of digital media, visual culture, global communication, and sustainable business. Having lived and studied in China, Japan, and the United States, I approach each topic with a cross-cultural lens—seeking to understand how ideas, identities, and policies evolve across societies.

Stanford University Reischauer Scholars Program

Studied Japan–U.S. relations through weekly seminars and discussions with scholars such as Prof. Ethan Segal and Deputy Director Andrew Lee, deepening insight into cultural diplomacy and regional politics.

New York University Pre-College Program

Explored Digital Media: Context and Practice and Introduction to Visual Culture, examining how digital technologies shape modern creativity and global communication.

UCI Interdisciplinary Center for the Scientific Study of Ethics and Morality

Collaborated with Dr. Christina Ong on Beyond Yellow, a research project examining radical Asian American movements.

University of Pennsylvania: Global Culture and Media Academy

Engaged in three weeks of immersive study on language, culture, and media, collaborating with peers to develop cross-cultural communication skills and global citizenship awareness.

Columbia University: Entrepreneurship & Innovation

Completed intensive coursework on venture creation, learning real-world problem-solving, negotiation, and leadership through case studies on social entrepreneurship and sustainable innovation.

USC Pre-College: Building Blocks of Business

Built a strong foundation in key business concepts and sustainability practices under Prof. Mike Paranal, enhancing analytical thinking and communication through collaborative discussions and feedback.

Research paper on Current Situation of Foreign Workers in Japan

Examined Japan’s reliance on foreign labor, exploring systemic challenges in policy, rights, and social integration, and proposes reforms toward building a more inclusive and sustainable society.

In this pitch for the Diamond Challenge and Georgetown Future Shaper Challenge, I present Tra-ditional — a global food-distribution startup connecting international cuisines with local markets through sustainable cold-chain logistics. The project reimagines how cultural flavors travel the world while reducing waste and promoting cross-cultural connection.
